This weekend I plan to remove both wheels on my 1150 for a tyre change, what is the best method of support to keep the bike upright & stable while I whip the wheels away to be re shod at a local supplier.

Put it on the mainstand. Remove the back wheel first and chock the final drive up on blocks and then remove the front. I used to use an old chopping block but a car jack is fine as well

one thing for sure, it would be a bugger if it came off the stand with no wheels on it

I thought about doing the same, then I got scaredthrew a few tools in my panniers and rode the bike down to the tyre place and did them one at a time, at one point the bike tried to rock back with no rear wheel fitted and I had to hang my jacket on the screen and jam a pannier under the pannier frame to stop it, one thing for sure, it would be a bugger if it came off the stand with no wheels on it

Did you take it apart so you could get it into your bedroom ?

Stop being so tight and pay them to do it![]()
