Buy some riding boot with thick soles.

I had some boots that I loved from back in my sports bike days that had a very thin sole. I glued a replacement work boot sole on along with a 10mm slice of rubber. Trimmed down the excess and then finished them off on the belt sander. I called them my Gary Glitter boots. :aidan

Daytona make such boots for women (Gore-Tex lady star) and I swear by my pair, gives an extra 3/4" which i really appreciate when riding my KTM. I have no idea if they make them for men though. They're not obvious either as the extra height is swallowed up in the body of the boot.

I've never quite understood why people buy a GSA that patently doesn't fit them and then spend a packet and jump through all sorts of hoops lowering it, effectively turning it back into a GS with a slightly bigger tank. It's not even as if the 'looks' and road presence are a justification as lowered GSA's look really odd and by the time you've sat it's arse on the floor you've lost the 'commanding' presence that people bleat on about.

Surely much less grief to just buy the right bike in the first place?

I don't think my standard GS 'with a slightly bigger tank' looks odd in any way, even with the alloys (:dabone Mike O). It certainly doesn't lack any road presence, either, but goes pretty well in the right circumstances :green gri

I never quite understand why people have to conform to stereotypical stereotypes NORMAL IS BORING!!!! If everybody conformed to what was sensible and safe we would all driving Ford Fiestas wrapped up in airbags never pushing the boundaries of progress and innovation and still live in caves !!! If I want to live in a conformist society were everybody drives the same , thinks the same ,wears the same clothes I'll move to North Korea and pay homage to Kim il Sung BUT I don't so I'll continue to be the individual that I am and choose and buy the things I like.

Unfortunately that also means that I have to live in a democracy full of smart arse condescending t@&ts who can offer nothing to the table of enlightenment and progress for people like me who are vertically challenged and mentally impaired non conformists!

So rant over and thank you for your opinion :blagblah

That looks sweet ! Thinking out the box I like that

Have you thought about just backing the rear preload off to minimum, I am also only short at 5"7' and 28" inside leg, I find with the seat on its lowest I can touch the floor no problem although I am on a std 1150

I could have possibly followed your lead on this one but with Gary glitters recent revelations and Jimmy saville I'll pass the option by lol

No I hadn't thought of that I'll give it a whirl it might be just enough as I can touch the floor with the balls of my feet ! Cheers

Any time :D

As rightly say, you can buy what the hell you like and do what the hell you like to it but as we don't, as you point out, live in North Korea I reserve the right to spout my I'll received opinions in a bike forum.

I'm sorry that you view it as condescending - that wasn't my intention but there you go...

And Kim il Sung would have no chance on a GSA - now there's a proper short arse ;)
