Very noisy clutch

I know Ducati's have an external dry & noisy clutch, but my Dakar has a similar problem, pull the clutch in and it quietens down, It doesn't clear as I would like when changing or engaging gear. Am I paranoid or is this a common trait with this motor? Any answers would be welcome

If the oil is old and thin or the wrong spec you could get clutch noise.

New oil after water pump seals change and to BMW spec, any other reasons?

Could it be cam chain rattle (failing or failed tensioner) rather than gearbox?
