.............here in the Yorks and Humbs section so here's a question to while away a few minutes on this dark and rainy (again) night.
If some rich relation came along and offered to buy you a motorbike,ANY motorbike, which would you choose? A Brough Superior? a Desmosedici? T120 Bonneville? Gold Star? new R1? a fully "Touratech-ed" 12GSA? Lambretta GP200? K1300s? Ultra Classic ElectraGlide? Francis Barnett Plover? Gixer Thou? Whatever.......
One choice each.
I'd probably go for a Laverda Jota,an early one with the 120 degree crank.Just for the noise,three cylinders,full bore,mmmmmmm:)

Good choice. And I don't even have to look at the link :D they're gorgeous.

I'd get them to buy my Dad's old Vincent, so I could ride it round to his place & watch the look on his face... :eek

And I'd like to see your face when Dad starts it 1st kick and buggers off down the road.:D

I wouldn't be so cruel to him as to offer the keys... He's 82yrs old ferchrissake :rob

I'd still like to see the look on his face, though :D

My dad bought his off a guy called Tony Rose, who'd used it for a magazine article where he & his mate rode it for 12mths & did 100k miles. Filtrate oils sponsored them & the idea was that they only did regular, basic maintenance/servicing. When my Dad sold it, he'd done another 60k or so miles on it & used to tell me tales of trips to the TT, Olivers Mount & Oulton Park with the VOC in Sheffield. Mum made him sell it when they got married, 'cos she was a staff nurse & had seen too many horrific injuries from crashing bikes.

I was down at the NEC today, some of those Harley engined specials look nice,a bit like NorVins.I'll have one of them please.

Good big stand from BMW,the new GS12's look great, esp. the yellow one. The 1000rr is a fantastic looking bike too,bit beyond my riding abilities though. Good show also from Touratech,KTM,Norton(never thought I'd say that again) and Triumph. LOADS of bargain crash-helmets and budget clothing to be found, but not a lot of discount on the quality stuff like Rukka and Halvarssons.
Nightmare roadworks on the M1 and an accident therein meant the journey there was a bit of a slog, :( never mind.

BTW the best totty is on the Carole Nash and Kawasaki stands.
