As always, useful info. Wapping.
Current bugbear I have is that I've got A->B B->C itineraries sorted out through France via plenty 'green' roads. Needless to say Garmin's thoughts on the matter are completely different. Seems that I'll need to go through stuff laboriously making waypoints from the Michelin route onto the Basecamp map. Any favourite way to achieve that?

I do most of my route planning the laborious way, looking at a good map and entering the route mile by mile by mile.

Though of late I have been clicking on the start nd end points, then pulling the route around to match in with the roads I (and not Garmin) want to take.

It does mean less via points but sometimes some odd 'Garmin features' do creep in that I would normally avoid. Litte things, like when it cuts a corner to save five yards, that you can only pick up when you have the scale zoomed right in.
