Hi all, I bought my 2006 1200gs in June and the engine vibration / noise is getting steadily worse.
It has been serviced twice since I got it, had the sync, valves and plugs / coils all checked, to no avail.
Two experts have said it's too noisy and 2 dealers have said, some of them are like that.
The noise is like a ball pein hammer inside the crankcases and comes from the crank area on part throttle or over run.
Really bad at 3000 rpm and gets worse the higher you go.
They don't all do it, I have ridden 4 others that are quiet.
I expect to hear the injector and maybe a bit of valve train, but this is like a diesel!
At 70mph with ear plugs in, it's terrible.
I'm an ex mechanic and if it was a car, I'd say main bearings....
Has anyone experienced the same, and more importantly had it resolved?
I'm fed up being charged for spark plugs and oil that doesn't need changing as incompetent techs play with my bike.
Problem is, I'm in France, my local dealer is useless and the warranty is out in three weeks.
Does anyone have a happy ending to this story??
