Vibration Eliminators

Do vibration Eliminators work and are they worth the money? Or does it work just as well using 'loctight'. I don't mind spending the money if its worth it but I don't want to buy them just for the sake of it .

So any comments from people who have fitted it and had it for some time would be usefull!

Just bought the full kit, fitted the vibration bits and they work well, got a bigger screen on so don't need the Tobinators.
My bits that came off were an alloy, I think the earlier ones were plastic, but you can see where they have rubbed through vibration.

How tight did you get the eliminators fitted Les? I had to faff about a fair bit to get the spacing bang on, and at that setting they seem a bit loose.

Yes just the same, in the end had them tight then knocked them back to get them to line up with the screen holes.

Vibrations????

Dave. do you mean the screen wobble that is prevelant at low rpm? I had no idea there was a kit you can buy......

After mine annoyed me for the first couple days I took off teh bottom screen mounts and between alloy screen mount and the retainer frome the front sub-frame I placed two small O rings ( mine are from model cars) taht just eliminated the gap and provided a shock absorber for the vibration.
Cheaper than chips! ( and probably better )

Yes that's correct. Nippy Normans do 'vibration Eliminators' £28 or 'tobinators & vibration Eliminators' £64. I am not sure I need the tobinators but do get fed up with the screen wobble/vibration. The parts on my bike are plastic and I don't want to break them

I would like to do something as the noise does get on my nerves and I would rather not pay £28

The £28 will be worth it in the long run imo. This kit is very well designed, well made from grade A materials, looks bullet proof and should last as long as the bike, unlike the standard flimsy plastic stuff.

J C, whilst I agree that tobinators and very well made and probably "made in Scotland from girders" or was that Irn Bru......

The screen only vibrates and 'wobbles' because there is slight lateral play in the bottom mounts. This was probably done so that there was not too much stress induced on the holes that form the mounts in the cast std screen. Mounting it too rigid on the environ that is a boxer twin is begging it to stress crack around those holes.....

If you dampen the lateral play with rubber 'o'rings, the play is still there if its needed but because it does not have a rigid stop at either end does not rattle! the parts will be GRP for a reason..... my guess is that in an impact and the rider being thrown forward they will snap preventing the screen from becoming a surgical limb removing tool..... You stick with your Tobinators I'll stick with O rings on the std set up with my GSA screen!

I only use the Eliminators, so cant really comment whether Irn Bru fits into the Tobinator equation

Did 250 miles today in lovely silence works a treat Top cheap mod
