A week ago my wife took delivery of her new factory lowered F650GS and when we got home I started to bolt on the TT rear rack she had bought. The rack fits on four existing bolts on the rear sub frame but one of the bolts would not unscrew, it just rotated and it seems the thread insert which is pressed into the sub-frame was rotating.
We dropped into Vines on Saturday and they immediately said they were not going to try to fix it, they would just order and fit a new rear sub-frame.
Today I got a call from Vines. The new sub-frame will be there tomorrow and will be fitted to the bike straight away but they feel really bad about this happening so have ordered a new bike for November delivery and will just swap them over when it comes in.
