Vinyl wrap....colour question

Why not wrap them in that clear vinyl film stuff, that way you keep the original look? Anything else would look odd imo.
My top box looks a little worse for wear, but I think it gives it character. My Panniers are like new though, as they've never come out of the garage :augie

I assume he's going to say that a GS12 should be completely corroded and tatty looking.

I was going to get my GSA top box and panniers vinyl wrapped to prevent corrosion and the throwing the foot over scratches.

The company I've spoken to said they'd wrap the boxes and colour code the beak and tank for a reasonable price. The thing is, I have no problem going for a strong, different colour on the tank and beak....but do you think the boxes would look gay being anything but silver or matte black?

As long as they're not some girly colour like pink, then they shouldn't look gay :ymca. Someone on here has had their (verns panniers?) wrapped.

I've seen adventure panniers covered in stickers before.

I say GO FOR IT. It's your bike. Make it different. :thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb

Here's a couple of links for you to show what can be done.

Had this done last week, Reflective black front, sides and tops, reflective red on the back. What do you think?

Came back from Liverpool on Friday and as soon as it got dark I noticed that cars were hanging well back from me.

Simon H, I only do 28k a year so cant really comment~ I've only got little stickers a all over mine,
but i do get it Valeted every MOT time.

If your doing that mileage, come sale time in three years plus it wont be worth feck all anyway

David @ Signco 07886362822 in Southampton. I had mine done at the same place as R200GSA costing £120.

it's not just resale, I can't stand a tatty and corroded bike.

If you wrap the whole bike in plastic and leave it in the shed it'll stay perfect.

If you want to ride it I'd suggest that a little bit of weathering should be considered character.

Each unto their own and all that, but it sounds like a tragic waste of money to me:nenau

that funny coming from the man with the most bling :hide

hows the cupholder :pullface

TO be fair though, Toad did paint his bike with a yardbroom:D

As for the bloke who started this thread, its his bike his money, you lot are worse than the nanny state we live in.
