Only just seen this thread. Missus and I were there on our Kettles. It’s a nice country show. Been there a few times now .
The Fj900 belongs to a friend. He aquired it from the wife of a late mate. It had been abandoned in a garden with just a tatty tarpaulin over it. The bike was not in a good condition!!!
It’s taken two years to sort it. The tank was rotten so a new one was sourced from America. As it’s not a particularly common bike, parts were quite difficult to find. Every exhaust stud snapped off, so I had to drill them out. The front brakes with their anti dive attachment were somewhat of a pain to bleed and are still a bit spongy ….. work in progress…….
The first time it fired up was a definite dust in the eyes moment.
Mate thinks he has spent best part of 3k on a bike that’s worth no where near that. But it was Colin’s bike and nice to breath life into it.
This show was its first ride out. Just a few miles from Bodle Street.
