Voge DS800X

I have owned a Voge dsx 525, which is a very good and very well equipped a££ordable bike,,, I don't think that by not buying it I would have adversely affected China's economy

I guess I'm now due to be berated 🤣
I have the phone number for the Samaritans if you need it🤪…its good to talk

Chinese bikes , and their hate or love following aside...I would avoid buying anything from Biking Direct !
The owner ( Simon ) has limited social skills and their after market is atrocious. Simon's father ( John ) started the whole business, Simon inherited everything after John died...but he did not inherit any of his father's communication skills .
This is in my local town, I really like some of the Voge bikes, but if I ever decide to buy one it wouldn't be from Biking Direct

They are both pretty despicable regimes aren't they?
Living in Tel Aviv with Gaza so close is like being in London but where Brighton is run by a terrorist government intent on your destruction. It's different from China.

If I was a Palestinian living in Gaza or the West Bank I'd hate the Israeli regime. Having said that both sides could do with better leaders.

Israel is nothing like China but both are destabilising fuckers

I wouldn't buy an Israeli bike either

then you should know israel started this many many years ago, you live in a country of dispicable people,

The bottom line is….you can get x four Ds800X’s for the price of x one well spec’ed Gs1300.
I acknowledge I am an old biased old fart, but when I look at my 1963 Bmw R27 and see the build quality and material spec on that bike and the fact it’s completely unrestored apart from some bright work and its still 100% serviceable and useable. I very much doubt the Chinese machines will still be here in 20 years let alone 60 years.
Like most things made in China, they are a throwaway item at the end of the day, once you get your head around that it isn’t a problem owning one.
All modern stuff is 'throw away' unfortunately - but better to buy our own and our allies 'throw away stuff' than feed the Chinese economy, surely?

Not as simple as that unfortunately, when BMW was making the 1150's the engines and bike were assembled in Germany mainly from parts sourced in Germany and Italy. A shit ton of parts for the newest bikes (particularly electronics) are sourced in China and the More upmarket bikes are assembled in Germany. The F900's and C series scooters are effectively made in China to BMW's design. That's why the Voge 900 has the BMW loncin engine, chassis and wheels. Its cheaper because it doesn't have BMW's marketing markup. BMW are not the only manufacturer at this. My Honda Africa twin is full of made in China electronics. I had a Toyota RAV 4 hybrid that was made in Japan but the engine was produced at a Chinese engine plant. Strangely my Toyota Auris touring sports was made in Derby with an engine produced in Japan. Globalisation at work.

Of course, but knowing that means one can make an informed judgement and minimize the amount of your hard earned cash you give to China - we complain that they are taking over the World but it is in our hands to change this.
