Does anyone have a solution for putting a volume control on my handle bar? Have an autocom mated to a 550 and find it a bit fiddly clicking through the Garmin to get to the volume. Ideally if it came with an optional PTT switch I'd be delighted as I find the vox control kicks in an kills the music on windy days.

1) How long have you had this volume problem?

Are you using the bottom button on the unit to access the master volume control to adjust the volume?

Some Autocom units have an ambient noise detection function that will increase volume automatically. Sam at Chainspeed will sell you any bits that you need if they are suitable for your unit.

2) A PTT switch has nothing to do with the VOX control. You need to set the VOX "harder" (more difficult to speak) if you find the wind blast opening the microphone.

Hope this helps

John
