Stonker,
This is the only forum I have registered with, for the reasons spelt out, I think it is highly developed, informative and 'generally' has a good atmosphere about it. Although there are occasions when some posts appear to be 'unnecessary', and it is one of the reasons why having been here for at least 6 years, I still have only registered about 140 posts. I can't be doing with aggro in my own time, but do realise that for some that it what 'floats their boat'.
But the wealth of knowledge, technical and general alike has been well worth the subs, that before the savings you make by selling and buying here, over say e-bay. Another institution I tend to avoid if at all possible.
Here, I am happy to pay my subs as it has helped me develop my tours and travels and points me in many useful directions on a number of issues. I don't feel as though anyone is getting rich off my back, and although a technophobe myself, I understand that sites like this have overheads in running them. Just my view.
Sorry we couldn't catch up I would have liked to know about your recommended dealer etc. Even if I do defect I will remain a subscriber here, not least in case I find myself running back to a GS W/C..................
I am worried about what I call the 'VFR feeling', after I sold my VFR750FM, a bike so accomplished that when I eventually sold it, I instantly regretted it. Despite my best attempts (many many bikes) to find a replacement, it was not until the GS that I felt I had found something as worthy and all round accomplished.
Anyhow we will see. Maybe, perhaps, possibly?
