I’ve got to put a few miles on my 1100 gs to see if I’ve made it worse or better

Go on, go on... I've had my GS running this week precisely cos of the shite weather... Damp, muddy, cold, winter... Made for it... Oilheads are the best shite weather bikes I've had... Hopefully you've cracked the prob and can get on with racking up miles...

Bit of a shakedown tbh
I had a 1150 r couple of years ago and loved it
But I don’t know if it’s me but the 1100 gs I’ve got now seems to handle/ride better

I reckon it's the longer swingarm due to shorted g/box and the fact the shocks always seemed more subtle... I had 1100s and sold 1150s for BM and always had in mind BMs wish to attract what was then the popular sports bike market into GSerdom... The 1150 ADV rode like an 1100 with longer shocks feeling more subtle and a lack of obsession with riders cranking up the suspension to sport bike firmness... 1st demo 1150 I took out I stopped after a miles to soften everything up...
