Waiting times for new tickets.

I got an extension when my last license ran out and I had applied in the necessary timescale. The license allowed me to keep my guns and use them in my own county but not sell them or buy any cartridges. I asked the fire arms dept how can I use the guns without any cartridges? He said, get your mates to buy them for you!
A few years ago when my license was delayed I moaned at the firearms department. They rang me at work to do a telephone interview. I was working in the Maxillo facial department at a local hospital. We had a brief chit chat about what I was doing and then the questions began: first question was “ have I got any mental problems?”. Unbelievable; I had just come out of the operating theatre after taking some wisdom teeth out and he questioned if I was sound of mind!

Licence expiry date 19 Jun 25.
I have just received my "Phase 2" licence renewal (27 Jun 25).

Phase 1 is receive the forms in the post fill them out and pass original copies to club secretary for endorsement and club approval. Phase 1 received 2 May 25. compiled passed to secretary 4 May 25. Submitted by club secretary after processing and scanning of all documents, to Victorian Licencing and Regulations Division of Victoria Police same day by email. I (and the secretary), received an acknowledgement of email with the attached letter.

Phase 2 is the payment and documents to get a photograph done and in due course, a plastic photographic licence will be issued. At least now they do not include a physical address on firearms licences any more (Noting in Vic, longarms and handguns require separate licences and obviously separate fees). Handgun licences ($225) are 3 year intervals and longarms 5 year intervals (approx $460).
