Wales Wales Wales. How Many Welsh Bikers On Here

The mountain road from there to Machynlleth is excellent, except for the time I hit low cloud at the peak...
There's me looking at a trip to the picos and I have never ridden further north than Builth. The Mach Loop is on my list to do as well.

Totally agree with Wessie, the view and ride from Clywedog Reservoir to Machynlleth taking the mountain road is superb on a clear sunny day. Make sure you stop at the Cadair viewpoint on the decent down to Machylleth.Clywedog Reservior.jpgIMG_0551.JPG

I've done it a few times since moving to Welshpool in both directions. It was going past that viewpoint I was in cloud, which was sub optimal for the views!

The other good mountain road not far from there is from Llanfair Caereinion to Carno via the amusingly named Cefn Coch. Annoying that the road remains closed at Talerddig which makes joining them up a PITA from some directions.

Suffered that shit show last weekend up and back to Motojunkies. There’s a right turn directly before the full closure that is a nice scenic single track through farms and over the valley onto the Welshpool/Newtown Road. Lots of breathing in when driving a XLWB though.
Or at turn left at Llandiloes and go past the res

There seems to be not much going on in the Welsh section. Is there many members on here from Wales ?
How about a re-set and everyone making an effort and post some news, gossip or scandal. A few ride outs for a coffee and something to eat and a chat. A bit of banter perhaps or even. North v South, North meets south, north and south on a ride out perhaps. Meet you half way for a coffee ? Just an idea to get people riding and meeting and chatting. What you recon ? Anyone out for a ride this weekend ? Post your rides if you don't mind a bit of company. Have seen it done on face book. It could be done on here surely.

Im down just outside Cardiff, always up for a ride although I work shifts so 3 out of 5 weekends I work to miss quite a few.

Same as Wessie, retired, prefer week days. Tend to stick to N and mid Wales

Also like to go where I want, stop when I want

Yesterdays 126 mile trip out
Stuck to the big roads
Did 60 miles on smaller roads on Wednesday as a mate is running in his V85TT

Nice 1. I was down towards Cardiff yesterday, at the new Baffle Haus. See you on the road for a coffee.

Try the B4520 from Brecon over to Garth. It's a bit closer to you. ( I'm a Welsh Exile and have done just about everywhere in Welsh Wales butty boy. 🙄😉)

then the B4358 from Beulah to Newbridge on Wye. An amazing rollercoaster of a road with possibly the remotest set of traffic lights in the UK.

I thought Wales was still in mourning?

Now, let me see…..

90 minutes to the Chunnel…. Or….. 90 minutes to, um….. er….. Towcester.

No thanks.

Mmmmm 4h 54m for you to Eryri (Snowdonia to you and I). It is really rather amazing if you get the chance.
