Stripped the front off last night ,kinda get the notion for mono cockpit, leaving on the PD tank, the tank would foul indicators thats my only concern ,what do you think chaps ,Am I heading the wrong way with this ?

I don't know what it is but I love looking at peoples projects :D I think you should put on either ( limited by wiring etc ) a BIG headlight ( twin?) or the standard black jobbie ( which will hold all your wiring and be easier to do )....then if the PD tank doesn't look right...move on from there. It will be unique either way :thumb2

I fitted small Oxford indicators directly into the plastic cowling ( San Hose top clamp stopped standard indicators from being fitted)

Brilliant Chaps ,starting to get some ideas.:bounce1Just pit it all back together .First item on my list mono cowlings .:thumb

BJ, thanks for the pics, im not sure the front is right for the HPN type tank. I will give it some thought..
I am a bit confused as to what it is you want to achieve with your bike. You have a very unusual bike as it is and it could be returner to standard with minimum of effort but if you change the lamp unit and keep the newer type dakar tank it will be neither standard or pretty. If it were down to me I would go for either the standard look, like Kennys or sell the dakar bits to fund the old style dakar tank and single seat, like Colts, mind you I still like yours the way it is:rob

Cheers pastyman the seat is there if anyone needs it Im not to worried about it,I know where your coming from on my bike ,I am just tinkering as we fellas occasionaly do ,I like the tank but think the cockpit and lamp and skirts are a little OTT.At this point shes all back in PD kit for the moment but Ive got some ideas Im going to work on cheers again.:beerjug:

R69S

but I now prefer the BMs of the 70s and 60s, (when I can find a good R69S).

Cheers

and I think we both no the answer to that. ya could buy that Basic with 5000 kilometres off him too to make the trip worth while

may even let ya have a wee ride around
