While out today, my Wonder Wheel (left hand side switchgear) appeared to go wappy.

My Nav VI screen kept jumping away from the Map Page, and scrolling through the settings pages.

It seemed like the Wonder Wheel was stuck?

Any ideas whats wrong here?

When I restarted the bike after a 20 minute stop, it was fine for rest of journey.

But I remember this happened a couple of times before, about a year ago. Then symptoms disappeared.

Strangely enough, mine did exactly the same yesterday.

I gave the screen a good clean and it seems to have fixed it, so I put it down to crap on the touchscreen...

Wappy - is that Yam Yam speak?

If so, I'm at Benhams in the morning as my TFT went wappy recently - they tell me a software update is required.

Should have bought the 1250 ..:green gri start of a slippery but well farkled slope

When my wheel started acting up, I gave the contacts on the Nav and the Nav holder a good clean with a brass wire brush, any stiff brush will do though, and then sprayed them with contact cleaner.

It did the trick, and I’ve not had a problem since. I repeat the clean every couple of months.

I hope it works for you, as it’s an easy fix.

I had the exact same on a trip to Wales. Did you have your phone connected via bluetooth, this was the culprit in my case?

Everthing worked fine (bluetooth connections, music etc.) until I stopped at a service stop on the M40. Had a meal and rode off again but forgot to turn my Sena on.
So while I was riding, I turned the Sena on, it connected fine and I managed to play music from my phone through the TFT. A few minutes later, my music started to skip then no sound at all.
My Nav 6 started to do exactly as you explained, scrolling through the menus as if I was pushing the jog wheel (which I didn't touch). My music kicked in again skipping like crazy.
This was driving me nuts so I stopped, turned off the bluetooth on my phone and Nav problem solved for the remaining 2 hours to Caer Beris... but no tunes :(

The next morning I deleted all the bluetooth pairings (TFT, Sena, Nav and mobile), paired them again and eversince I've never had this issue again.

No connections on mine, except phone.

I'm out again today, so I've cleaned contacts and restarted phone.

See how I get on with it today.

This will almost certainly be a fault on the Nav VI, I had the same issue, it would do it occasionally, and a clean/wipe/press of the screen would sort it. eventually it started doing it consistently so I had it replaced under warranty. It's a known issue. take it to your dealer and they should replace the unit for you.

Yep, nav fault. BMW and garmin are aware of it, they replaced mine straightaway. Don’t know if they have solution for it yet.

Its all the AC50, and other keep clean shite, you keep lathering over ;)

let it get dirty, its what it wants to do lol

200 mile ride today, about 6 hours riding and no wappy moments.

Might be fixed :thumb2

I'd get the Nav replaced before it's warranty expires. I guarantee the gremlin will return at some point, probably a week after it expires if you leave it!
