Warning - Stolen Clocks (Again)

I do know a DC on their stolen vehicle squad, and I'll give him the heads up, but do you realise how many cars get nicked a day in the Met .. ?

It's just another day, and with the next round of spending cuts coming along, a lot of the forces are really having to prioritise what they do protectively ...

:thumb2

I'm thinking of having my reg plate etched onto the clocks and head lamp. Not sure if it will deter the fuckers, but you never know till you try it.

If yer going to do anything (as crazy and as unnecessary as it should be .. :blast) you need to have your would be thief take one look at the clocks and think ... 'Bollox ... I'll not bother'.

So datatg will mean nothing to him - he doesn't care - he's the bloke nicking not selling, and besides, the datatag sticker is just something to peel off.

Nobody in their right mind is going to etch 'STOLEN' on the clear plastic of their clocks (well I wouldn't), but that's the sort of thing that the fence isn't going to sell and doesn't want, (and won't give the thief his £60 for).

You guys have some seriously dedicated thieves there. I have not hear of this happening once here. May have, but it is basically a non-issue for us.

IMHO, it is not so much a matter of how it is attached, but how much these dreggs can get for them.

Jim

cover your bikes up comrades... out of sight is out of mind. It might not deter a determined thief or one who has done some recce on you and your bike but an opportunist might just move onto the next one.

Sorry to hear this is your second theft. I'd park elsewhere mate.

Thats an excellent idea Bob. Would say the best idea yet. The engraving would have to be professionally done and easily seen.
Think i may get it done. You go first Bob.x

Will do!
I will make up a vinyl mask (plotter) and then use coarse grit to sandblast the bastard on!

I tried to post a photoe but couldn't work out how to do it. Can anyone help? When I tried to add an image attachement it asked me for the URL. Or am I just being thick...?

Come on then, get your mates in the Met - to take them down, serious & organised crime to get straight onto it

Pull some strings, for the collective

Serious crime. A couple of sets of clocks....... In the great scheme of things that's not a serious crime, it's an inconvenience.

I'm sure the amount of strawberries eaten from the punnet while people do their shopping in the average tesco express adds up to a bigger crime...

You need to upload the photo to a web based photo sharing site like Flickr, then post the url of the photo on there back to here.
It's a pain in the ass I know but that way there isn't a load of memory required on this website to store all the pics.

Maybe wrong but I'm sure that the clocks are programmed for your bike only , so if you bought a second hand clock they would not be recognised by the bikes ecu / computer ..:nenau

Strange how a few have now appeared on eBay (today) by a Johnny Foreigner from that London Town .

This is right. When I was at Barnstormer last Saturday, they had a bike in with missing clocks, and the tech confirmed the edu would not recognise second hand clocks. The bike would need recoding to accept the clocks.

He also uses another's eBay address in Cheshire, i bidded on some wc wires, a week later he had another set he wanted to sell me outside of eBay, i declined.

There's also this fella whom from enfield he had a couple sets of wheels from a wc + clocks - led headlight, I've had several emails to and fro and he sounds very suspicious, take a look at the surroundings where the pictures are taken, lock up single garage in a council block, so deffo not a business, just a front.

He's also listing a frame from a 2012 gs, the rear subframe is actually from a WC

Tbh i find it hard to believe as to why there are so many wc bikes being broken by private sellers ! and these sellers are repeat sellers of items from these bikes, as the bike itself is still a new model private sellers would not be getting these bike to sell for spares .
