Had this warning at the weekend for the first time (72 plate).
It’s seems to have coincided with the Nav VI malfunctioning. Prior to this weekend the Nav has been fine but unfortunately it has started to ghost. When the Nav is in cradle, the bike throws up the warning. But all is well without it mounted. Can the two be correlated? Although approaching its 6K service interval, the bike hasn’t yet had the software update for the gearbox, could this be BMW using telemetry via the Nav to encourage me to book it in for a workshop visit to get the software update. Or is that too ludicrous a thought?
