Quick question... Are there any issues with adding bits to your bike yourself regarding the warranty. I want some hand guards, and this 'wondering' has just popped in to my mind..
Most compaines will try to wriggle out of any kind of warranty or insurance payout if they can find an angle, but i've not heard of BMW being so short sighted as damaging customer relations for petty reasons, theres only a finite number of us around in these tricky financial times after all...
If you designed your own engine guards that ripped a hole in the casings then i think they'd be within their rights to say 'tough luck son'. But I recon you're safe enough with hand guards.
You could always call your dealer & ask the question.
The hand guards that I'd fit would be 'off the shelf' so I'd like to think they've been designed to be fitted without having to go drilling holes in my bike.
