So, Bought my bike on 4/7/18 with a 2yr warranty , now had i bought it 27 days later i would have had a 3yr warranty. Customer services arent interested either. One dodgy spoke and now this .... Not very confident with this bike and BMW already.

So you bought your bike before they changed the warranty conditions, so what do you expect, when do you think they should have backdated the offer to. Somebody is always going to dip out when things change, you have two years, the same as the rest of us have had for years. Buy they extended warranty after the two year point.

It's the poor buggers that reach pensionable age 24 hours after the government moves the eligibility date back another year, that I feel sorry for :augie

Find a few more problems (it shouldn't be too hard) then insist on a new bike

BINGO 3 year warranty :augie

Unfortunately I’m nowhere near the 3 year warranty cut off, but I think they could easily have offered 1 month retrospective 3 year warranty to existing buyers, it would have pissed me right off I van tell u

Then the people who got theirs on 30th June would be pissed off

Any dealer worth their salt would have known many months in advance that the warranty was going to be upped to 3 years , it would have taken them nothing to tell a purchaser that if they bought the bike it might be advantageous to hang on a month or so.

When I purchased my first new GSA in 2011 the dealer who I didn't know from Adam advised me to wait a few weeks before ordering it and as a result I ended up getting a free set of aluminium panniers and tank bag worth over £900 .

Yes, because they are not a business, so hang on and we will lose the sale for this period. As for any dealer worth their salt would have known is not a given. I mentioned the 3 year warranty to my dealer and the service department knew nothing about it, they then asked the sales manager, who did know, but hadn't passed the info down. And this particular dealer is one of the best, so some things don't get passed down quickly to the floor staff

I'm not so sure

A mate of mine rejected his LC GSA due to corrosion and BMW agreed to supply him with a new bike. He asked the Dealer Principal if he knew if BMW were about to bring out the GSA Triple Black, because if they were, he would like to 'upgrade' to the all black bike. The initial reply was that they would not be GSA Triple Black yet, but that he would ask again at the dealer conference which was being held a few days before the Garmisch Rally.

The DP phoned my mate from the conference in Munich and was told that there would definitely be no GSA Triple Black that year, yet at Garmisch the following week, BMW unveiled the Triple Black GSA :blast

I picked my new GS up on the 26th July, I have tried to get the extra year, BMW customer service referred my complaint to the dealer who turned it down, their justification was that I ordered my bike on the 12th i.e. 3 weeks before the 1st August and that the 3 year warranty only applied to bikes ordered on or after 1st, so 'no can do'. Needless to say I am thoroughly pi$$ed off with my dealer Allan Jeffries, and doubtful I will buy another bike from them when I'm ready to change....unless of course they offer 'a deal' on the third year warranty.

Rich

I bought my GSA Triple Black new, and 6 months later BMW brought out Hill Start Assist and TFT on the same bike with a £500 uplift on price.

However, the poor git who ordered the same bike 6 months before mine didn't get the gearbox hardware upgrade or Euro4 OBD2 Spec.

and... on and on.... it's the same story for just about everyone on these bikes.

I don’t get all the moaning to be honest. If you were happy with the deal when you bought it then why has anything changed? I can see why people get pissed off with the spokes and other issues that make you lose confidence in the bike etc, but buying a bike and then wanting a different deal a month later is bizarre.

At least they aren't a Honda Africa Twin customer. I'd hate to have bought one in August 2017.

Then one month later they drop the price £3500 and 0% finance.

I would have cried....

Or back in 2012 when Honda dropped the price of a brand new DCT VFR1200 to £8500. Saving £4000.

People were spitting blood !!

Buy a bike three years old and you can just concentrate on the corrosion rather than what’s made the glass half empty

Bloody Santa! He brought me an electric drill one Christmas which I could have used on a job I did a month earlier! No joy from the elves in the complaints department either. I've blocked my chimney up - that'll teach him.

Just sell it and buy another one if it bothers you that much. Life is too short for this sort of shit.

Sums it up a treat. :D

We would never buy anything if we were always worried about a better deal around the corner !!!

Picked mine up on the 3rd August, so did get the three years warranty.

I went into the dealer about mid July looking for a late used and the Salesman said if I wanted to go for new one in a couple of weeks the warranty would be three years, but he did say that he shouldn't really be telling me ;)
