Left Mobile in trousers and put thru Automatic Washer ? anybody any ideas on how to retreive info on phone memory, sim card works ok.:blast

i did that recently too :blast

i took mine completley apart and left it in a bag of uncooked rice for a few days. Only thing that doesn't work is the camera flash.

Worth a go if you can find dissasembly instuctions on the net somewhere

If the phone is definitely not working I'm pretty sure some of the mobile phone shops offer a service where they can back up your mobile phone. Try ringing around a few:thumb

take out the battery and allow it to dry out gently

Capsized a kayak Easter time, I was given the above advice, (no forced drying) and a day later everything was working again.:thumb. Washing machine is a bit more vigorous than a river though.

OH
one of my mates phones went in the canal recently it was submerged for 24 hrs ..take it to bits put it in airing cupboard or somewhere warm not hot and leave it for a day or so it should be ok or at least you will be able to access the sim card even if that means a card reader or another phone presumably the phone itself is insured ?

My boys mobile went through a boil wash recently. We just took out the sim card and battery and left it on top of the Rayburn for 3 days. As has been said warm but not hot seems to be the key. :thumb2

The phone was working fine, but for some reason we couldn't recharge the battery once it went flat. From memory a new battery was only about £5.

dropped mine down a drain a few weeks ago rinsed it put it in a tuperware box filled it with rice and put it in the airing cupboard for a few day then recharged:thumb2
did the same for my daughters ipod when that went through the washing machine a few years ago:augie
both still working

Thank goodness.............. so I'm not the only one.

Mine went through the wash 2 days ago, heard an unusual clanking banging noise, went to have a look and could see this bright screen going round and round. :blast

I felt such a plonker wrestling the door open and fishing around for it in the soapy water. Took the battery out and the SIM, it felt odd running it under the cold tap but put it in a warm place to dry and it seems ok now apart from the broken glass in front of the screen. Bob, have you got a spare case? I was going to PM you but now you know the story.
