WC in the South of France

Instead of our usual blast down the motorway to Cambrai last year on one of our trips we just went to the 1st junction then headed west along the coast before taking all day to get to Cambrai for our 1st night. What a great day, I'll never look at that part of Northern France the same again! Wouldn't do it every time but will defiantly do it again. Some times you have no choice to do motorway stints to get where you want to be but we always try and split the days up to do a bit of both.

After all this, I do hope there's a ride report with lots of pictures of the bike, and food, to follow. :thumb

And some of your girlfriend you keep mentioning!:P

I was in the Pyrenees a couple of weeks ago, every other bike out there was a WC, common as muck............. so I guess you'll have a ready supply of spare parts should you need them :)

I did see one being used properly though, which was refreshing :thumb2

It never was a ride report - it is a reliability report on my now 19,000 mile (beta model) March 2013 GS.

P.S saw loads of WC's around France this year - seems like they are much liked by the Germans/French/Dutch/Belgians - they appear to spend their time riding instead of whinging like us Brits - maybe our weather turns us into moaning Minnie's?

I hope so, but going by the numbers of them that I saw around France the vast majority of them are 'good ones' - we all know that really - so many are being manufactured and sold that there will be failures, it's just that the owners with problems tend to be drawn to a few websites to voice their dissatisfaction, which is fine, but it makes the problems look very much more widespread than they are.

I do and have, but wanted to get back quickly...

... before it broke down.

Seriously though, I disagree with a lot of what you post but fair play to you 19k is good going and plenty of time for an initial evaluation of a bike.
