So , on my way up to the NC500 . 400 miles yesterday, 300 today, currently in inverness😎
The thing is I've never noticed much noise from the front end before, but it sounds like a concrete mixer below 60 on anything but really smooth Tarmac
I've got ear plugs in and am wearing a tour cross , I usually wear an Arai Ram open face
The bike runs well and at speed the noise is cancelled out by wind rush
Tyres have 4500 miles on them and haven't really squared off
Anyone found s cure?
Having a great time up here, though it has pissed down every time I've got back on the bike
One of our group had his Ktm 1290 nicked while making an overnight stop in Liverpool. He didn't want to do the slog to the lakes from London in one hit:eek:
Had to go back to London to pick up a 990 adventure, so he's already winning in mileage :D
Great place to ride , Applecross / Ullapool tomorrow , but jees That bloody noise :thumby:

GSA NOISE

Are you running on Annakees?
Mine are bloomin noisey

Get rid of the annakees,i put Metzeler roadtec o1 on helped a lot but i think the shape of the bike at the front funnels the noise upwards, plus the bike sounds like a Massey Ferguson tractor most of the time:nenau

It'll be the Anakees. Did the nc500 in April on Avon Trailriders and they were quiet and faultless in pissing rain and 30 m visibility over the Baelach Na Ba.

Ps. It might be too late to consider but we found it best to do the NC 500 anticlockwise. All the traffic seems to do it clockwise, particularly the campervans!

I run Trail Attacks on my GSA and rode a Rally 1200 demo fitted with Anakees on Thursday and by Christ they are noisy :blast

Cheers will check them out . Staying near a distillery tonight

So Avon trailriders the quietest ?

Home now and tyres are shot , I know tyres are very personal , but I'm after the best for grip wet and dry, and quiet . Road tyres not off road .
We had a brilliant trip 2100 miles in 6 days . Lots of bucket list places ticked . Great lunch at Applecross Inn . Cheers :beerjug:

I have Bridgestones a bit quieter but not a road to Damascus, I think a leather / Rubber fork insert thingy to act as a sound baffle might need designing!

The Conti Trail Attacks have been faultless so far on mine so definitely worth considering.

Looking forward to reading your extensive RR. :thumb2 :bounce1

I'll be looking to replace the Anakees on mine after a trip to French France next weekend, anyone have the trailriders fitted with a mudsling?

Bet the next update has cosmetic changes to cut out road and engine noise :thumb2

Yep, I did. No problems at all. I'll either put those or the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 on my GS when they need changing.
