There's a wee red light thats appeared on my instrument panel just beside the light/dark sensor under the mileage changer button, its on all the time even with the ignition off and the key out,the bike starts and runs fine but what is it ?,what does it mean ? will my bike self-destruct in 10 seconds ?
Any ideas ???? Thank's.:nenau

Ha!
I had it once on for half an hour or so.It was a rainy night.Never seen it again.Don't know what it is.

Wish I could! Just trolled through 12 pages of HP2 threads on AdvRider with no (obvious) mention of the problem :nenau

BUT! I can't believe that there is no mention whatsoever of the function of the light in the manual....... surely there's a picture of the dash with a list of features?

On other models (like the F800) this is the shift light, it can be programme to let you know it's time to change gear - can't imagine why you'd need this on an HP2 and, as it happens this in not one of the HP's features. Other than that, it's the alarm light, if you've got an alarm fitted. I you don't have an alarm, there's not really any good reason it should be red. Only thing I can think of if that you've been riding (or left the bike out) in the rain. Let it dry out and see if it sorts itself, apparently has happened to others before but I've not yet come across this problem.
