Have this blue water weeping from the hole in photo, is it coolant?

Looks like your coolant pump needs replacing, shouldn't be a problem for the dealer to change. I would check your coolant level, as you don't want to ride with no coolant and negate you warrantee.

Thank you, schoolboy error, should of done a search first!
Coolant level is above minimum so probably just breather hole letting a little out, have done 400 miles today.

Per the previous thread, you'll probably get a new water pump fitted at first service. Only slight issue is that they have to come from Germany which takes several days. Hope you get it sorted.

Several weeks more like!

Not in my case. Just under a week from when they ordered it to when it arrived in the dealership. (It's a known problem apparently, maybe they've stocked up accordingly).

I'm in the water pump club as of yesterday. The dealer told me the pumps are back ordered until the middle of October but I'm sure it will take longer. He said I could ride it local keeping in mind that the pump could totally fail at any time.

I'm hoping the new pump has a new part number.

My replacement pump came in overnight, could be they are updating the pump in light of the failures, hence why on back order?
Dealer sorted mine out fine, they kept it an extra day as wanted to get it well tested, they did 75 miles, must of enjoyed themselves, or had it out on demo LOL.
So far no further issue, it lost half the header tank water so I would be cautious if you are still using it.

Same issue on new GSA WC

Picked up 2 weeks ago and decided to get the miles on over Easter as first service booked for this Friday. On the Greencastle Ferry I noticed plenty of viscous green liquid gathering on the underside of the left cylinder head. I did spring a coolant leak on my 800 when it came out (a well publicised hose clip kept undoing itself), so maybe every new BMW I get will do this? Having said that, in 50k miles after that it didn't give me one bit of bother, so it bodes well.

Have we confirmed that a new water pump sorts this out or is it a built in feature in the event of being over-filled with too much coolant?
