weird strange relationship

Sorry to say I’m contented with what I’ve got. Looking back my past was populated with ups and downs I’ve worked away (very away) from home as an engineer in the wild and woolly fish industry my eldest daughter just survived meningitis, lovely wife Linda developed a horrible cancer but survived thank God. Coming through sh** makes you realise priorities not colour of bikes na, type of bike well I like my old BM but whatever I’ve had I’ve enjoyed. Now I ride quietly most of the time on my own to see great friends who supported me when the times where tough.
I’ve learned contentment it makes my little world go around happily and I recommend it to all you guys.

That puts it in perspective :thumb

The OP is correct.

I see exactly where your coming from OP....

When I got my 02 1150GS in Blue and White I was over the moon, I'd waited years to get one and when I handed over the cash and one was finally mine, life was good. I put 20,000 miles on it in 18 months riding to work, riding off road and road riding for fun at weekends. Really bonded with the bike.
Later down the line I then bought an 05 GSA so Id could use the gS for the outfit. The GSA is a better bike in fact (apart from the low 6th) I liked it....but......my 02 GS was 'my gs' I'd waited all those years for.
The great thing is.....I got to keep the 02 GS and replaced the 1150GSA with a 12LC GSA to bond with all over again having waited 3 years to get one.
So 7,000 miles later since March....I'm a happy boy but I wouldnt ever want to get rid of my 02 1150. That will always have a special place in my garage, the LC GSA will also earn a place and I can't imagine getting rid of it.

So only one thing to say to you.....you bloody idiot, WTF were you thinking!

Not sure why no one has mentioned it before. Go get it hiltop'd. The colour is in your mind.

One bike I really wish I still had, Yamaha XT250. The first bike I bought brand spanking new with my own money.

Reading all these replies has made me realise. . . .
I bought my first GS in 2000, a W reg standard bike. I loved it, although at that time it was a strange bike which many didn't understand but I loved. I kept it for 14 years and it took me everywhere, Europe and Africa. The watercooled got the better of me. I bought the white one at a time of my life which was.... well, life changing. Fabulous. I then sold it and bought the TB at a time when it had all gone wrong. The last year has been shit and this has reflected in my bike.
It is indeed in my head. I need to sort my life out and then ill fall back in love with my bike and biking.
I still feel the white looks better, but thats down to personal preference.
