Clare

Definitely Loop head. Good day trip is to get the ferry from Kilrush to Tarberr in Kerry and do the Dingle or Beara peninsula.

Lots of beautiful roads & scenery around there ;)

As Richie says do the coast road, Doolin to Ballyvaughan. Stop at the lighthouse at Blackhead for lovely views across Galway Bay to the city. Have chowder in Monks in Ballyvaughan. Back to Lisdoon via Corkscrew Hill. If you do it right (slowly) that's one day taken care of.

Any of the inland roads are worth doing, grab a map & draw a meandering route around the Burren.

Father Teds house is over near Corofin, if you're a fan of the program me. If you book it you can have afternoon tea there too.

Then there's the Cliffs of Moher. Worth seeing but they charge you now :(

And there's a monastic site (whose name currently escapes me :blast) just outside Gort.

Do Loop Head as marcopol says. With fish & chips in Naughtons in Kilkee or fresh fishy type stuff (mussels, fish, chowder, etc) in the Long Dock in Carrigaholt.

Or take the ferry from Kilrush to Tarbert & visit the Flying Boat musem in Foynes.

And if you've still got time I'd recommend heading to the north side of Galway bay & seeing some of Connemara.

And don't forget to stick up a bit of a report & lots of pics when you're back :aidan

If you haven't booked anywhere yet I highly recommend Ballinsheen House B&B in Lisdoonvarna, stayed there at Easter, the woman that runs it is lovely, nice big rooms and gorgeous breakfast including local Burren smoked salmon, there is also free wifi. Her brother rides bikes so she likes to have people with bikes staying and is very accommodating if you get a soaking (hopefully not though).
If you want some fantastic food try the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna, the chef Ciaran is excellent, they also serve Burren craft ale, lager and stout that is brewed next door.
The Cliffs of Moher are worth a visit but as Jochen said they charge you to park, it's €6 each but as the car park is on the opposite side of the road and its the only place you need to pay for, a bike can get away with parking at the stone arch thingy at the entrance and you can just walk on in for free.
When you pass by Doolin call into the Clare Jam Co. they have some weird but wonderful jams and chutneys made on the premises.
There is a fantastic corkscrew road coming down out of the Burren but I can't remember the name. Jochen remember the one we were talking about, if you'd be so good as to post up the name of it?
I'll post up the coordinates of Ted's house when I get home plus some pics and anything else I can think of between now and then.
I agree, if you can make it as far as Connemara is has some of the most stunning scenery we have to offer :thumb

Enjoy your trip :)

You will find this map pretty handy, as its detailed and has topo features on it.

Paddy Burkes in Clarinbridge is good for grub, as is Morans on the weir, also in Clarinbridge.

Kinvara is also a nice little place.

Rusheen Lodge near Ballyvaughan is a great little B&B.

You are literally spoiled for choice in this part of ireland.

I have attached a few gpx points of interest.

Have a great trip and post up a report.
