What’s this bracket for???

Hi all, whilst sorting the battery out on my 2010 GSA I came across this bracket just above the battery retaining bracket. What is it for?? Thanks

But it may be for attaching a tank bag too

this bracket is for the drivers manual and tool box? when I bought my gs it was attached to this bracket

When I bought my tank bag it came with that bracket, tool bag is a bit farther back.

oh yeah there is a black rubber band as well that goes with it, and I meant tool bag if you have the extra tool bag I had an extra one, also a bmw one with torx ratchet etc

As others have said, and as is clearly shown in the handbook - it's for holding the rider's manual. Should have a thin rubber band too for holding the book in place. Alan
