Something like that usually slips over the end of, perhaps, a flat C spanner to extend it for more purchase.

Slots into the screwdriver handle. Same profile as the section halfway down the reversible screwdriver bit.
Not sure if you know Mark, but the end of the screwdriver is shaped to fit into the engine-oil filler plug.

Aha, yes of course - it fits the screwdriver!
And yeah, thanks pal, I already knew about the handle end fitting the oil plug (only took me several years to figure that one out
