Well after a few weeks of searching and thanks to joining this forum I finally broke my duck and bought one....
found a very good condition GS 09 SE in Sevenoaks....(thanks Gary)
took the advise of not test riding... (cracking thread)
So travelled down in car with a pal 140miles or so..... picked up bike and headed home through some right shitty rain and bloody hail !
after 90 odd miles decided to pull in for a coffee break......
then on for last 50 miles "ill get a sprint on I said to my mate" as the first 90miles had been taking it easy....
So building up some speed at....ahem !! well lets just say normal S1000rr type speed ! in the fast lane of the M50 ..... she stalled !!!!!!!!!!!
so a diagonal line across the two lanes to hard shoulder (thank F...) hardly no vehicles I drifted to a halt......
Ummmm ?? fuel gauge showing half ? but wouldn't fire after about 10 attempts........
anyhow my mate bless him drove up to next services and back to the one we just left and then to me with a new jerry can and a gallon of jungle juice !......
I was a little peed off to say the least......
anyhow fuel in ..... but battery was now effin flat..... due to my panic stricken attempts in starting !!
So it was Mr RAC......and a jump pack 2hrs later......
But I don't hold grudges...... even after just a hour or so after parting with my cash !!
still might have felt different if RAC battery didn't fire her up !.
I had a instant education of Fuel sensor issue.....and possibly Knackered Battery......
But its strange as I enjoyed every minute and it was love at first sight with seeing this bike and riding her....
once going she didn't flinch a bit through all that water infested tarmac !
After years of sporty rocket launchers.... I know I will enjoy the blast ! even if I have to shell out for a new battery !!!!!
the fuel sensor can be done under warranty..... its not quiet 2yrs up from being done ! phew !!!!
