Bloke who sold what's now my GSA back to the dealership got in touch with an email offering bits he's otherwise putting on eBay.
As follows:
"Attached is the picture of relevant parts.

Throttle potentiometer guard (touratech)
Touratech handle bar brace and BMW pad
BMW tank bag (ortlieb waterproof own liner)
Oil filler cover ( you already have the coded Alan key in the toolkit for this - I need to put the filler gap in the post, or you need to send me the key?)
Touratech Frame guards
Mud slug rear shock protector
Akropovic titanium end can (BMW oem)

The only other parts are the pannier liners for all three panniers.

If you can let me know what is of interest I will take a look on eBay for the "going rates" and we take it from there?

I look forward to hearing from you."

Only bits here I think are worth having are the frame guards and the oil filler cover.
Any Tossers advise?

Nothing there that would appeal to me. It's all Bling.
You might consider the tank bag but I've never used mine.
It's all stuff that will come up again the next time someone sells their bike to a main dealer.
If I were you - save your pennies till you know what you want.

Oh, get the pannier liners. They are a must but don't pay too much coz they are not that dear, new.

That was my instinct too Angus. Only thoughts were:

1. Frame protectors worth having on the basis I WILL drop it at some point coz I don't tiptoe
2. If I've got the key for this oil cover is it worth having (also note that he hasn't considered the possibility of me keeping the key and telling him to do one)?

If they're frame guards I'm thinking of, they won't do much to protect your frame in a drop. They're designed to protect the frame from being scuffed by your boots.

Also, if by "Mud Slug" he really means Mudsling then one of those is a very worthwhile addition.

The TPS guard can be useful in preventing damage in a drop, particularly off-road.

I'm sure he'll have no trouble selling the rest of the parts.

Goes without saying, of course, that I'll happily buy any of this stuff on behalf of others if asked. Pic he send was

Mud Sling is worth having, stops all the water and crap getting to the battery and frame work if you have a look at your bike you will see what I mean, bad design on BMW's part.

There £100 or there about on Nippy Normans site, well worth it in my opinion, see what he wants for it... supprised he took it of the bike TBH

xGSTQ he's after £50 for it. I presumed it wasn't wise to have if you're taking the bike O/R in terms of bottom out (the bike, not me)

if your going of road def get the mudsling there is no bottoming out issues, plus you and the bike will be a lot cleaner.

I'd go for the handlebar brace and pad too....especially if you're going off road :thumb2

....but be wary of the price cos I don't think they're very dear new from the dealer. (£25+£10=£35ish??)

Inner Bags

Did you say he had inner pannier bags ? If he has - would they fit vario panniers or are they Adv inners ?

Thanks

Mick
