I bought my 1100GS with some parts missing and I have managed to pick up most of what I know I need but on the side it looks like there should be a cover here? or do the wires just get tucked away?

should be a bolt in there to hold the electrical box, but as for cover, there are after market ones that you can get, but as standard there was no cover I dont think

That doesn't seem right. Similar items for an 1150GS are mis-labelled; they're actually h-bar unit covers.

I've come across this photo that shows a small plastic panel. do you think this is an aftermarket part? looks neat , I quite like that.

yes it is after market tour a tech and others made them,they just hang over the frame rails.

Even Wunderlich made carbon fibre covers for the more discerning.

I have the two carbon side panels from Wunderlich still on my 1150GSA.
But that gloss carbon black look has faded to a dull grey colour due to weathering.
