What have I done???

What I mean is have BMW made the RT too technical and put too much on it like the K thereby weakening the RT brand.

I think the RT as a brand has diminished with this incarnation. Had 2 RT`s and now K16 and I always thought BM would try and close the gap between the RT and K16 by essentially incorporating elements from both bikes. Whether its progress or not is a moot point, i think the Rt deserved an engine upgrade of some sort and current / future emision laws meant going WC.
Having said that I think the RT is now more of a K16 but without the 6 engine perhaps it should be called a KT.
No doubt when a new K16 comes out the gap will re-establish itself as no doubt it will contain even more tech:blast

Oh and central locking is brill:thumby: One of those things you never knew you wanted until it came out.

I agree. It has moved towards the K16. but thats a positive move forward in my eyes… i think the LED lights look great on the new RT. As put above the new K16 will push the it further on if and when released.

The central locking is great .i love it . i also have the quick shifter , its "ok".. …I trade in a 2012 RT .for the new LC one and i am well pleased with the new model. it won't get me any where any quicker or in any more comfort, but then neither would a K16.. I think BMW have done a great job on this new model and Im glad i changed up for it

The old top box fits the new model …the dealers telling you it won't or they are not sure ,are obviously target driven and need to sell the new £800 one ….DONT

Why did they drop the K1300GT ? do BMW have a business plan of only having model runs of 2 - 3 years ? they've the same in previous years too like the R1200S.

I like my RT (2013) and can't see me wanting the new model in 2 years, if it's still in production. BMW would be better sorting their quality issues.

Also getting a bill for nigh on £300 for a 6,000 mile service is a joke.
