This afternoon I have lifted up the tank to get at the battery, put it back into place and then washed the bike which is an 1150adv but used a power washer which is not something I normally do.
Fired it up after the wash and it will hardly tick over unless I give it some revs and sounds like its only running on one cylinder.
Could I have disturbed something when moving the tank or been too excessive with the power washer?? Ideas please, cheers Stu :nenau

check the seating of the throttle cables...someone will be posting THE famous picture at any moment..... :D

An unseated throttle cable on one side. Here's what it looks like on an 1150:

I take it I have moved this when I pulled up the tank? Although I had a look in that area and did'nt see much wrong. I must have moved the tank higher than normal to get at the battery.
A 4 minute reply though, strewth!! :clap

Had a quick look before going to work and yes its not sat in right, do it just push back in and then its ok? Got a potential buyer coming for a look tonight.
cheers stu :thumb

If it aint the throttle cable ....................

Take the connectors off the injector bodies and blow the water out that got in when you jet washed it......... ;)

I had the same problem with mine. Check the throttle cable all the way along it's route. With mine it wasn't unseated at the position shown in the picture. It was further up.
It wouldn't tick over properly and if you tried to rev it it spluttered, backfired and then cut out. If this sounds the same as your problem it will more than likely be the throttle cable. It was on the right hand side of the engine as your sat on the bike. You have to lift the tank to see it though.
