Just done a complete reinstall on my laptop - full format of hard drive, reinstall all standard software, install AVG (free version) and Adaware. Select ukgser as my home page, go to windows updates and bring everything up to date.
When I go to the address and try www.google.com I get the message
"The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context" and consequently I can't check anything else apart from this site!
not too bad but I need to check other stuff too. Any suggestions?:nenau

IE7?

you are certainly not alone in this. plenty of people have had this after reinstall/upgrade it appears.

answer i found is:

Uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs, click Show Updates and select Windows Internet Explorer 7.0. When you reinstall it, make sure you reboot immediately after you install

if that doesn't work, try this:

It was because of IE7 the solution is to uninstall IE7 using the following command on the START -> RUN

%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe

these apparently work for some but not others. if it doesn't, it seems it's reinstall time :(
