After owning my bike for a year; bought from Prof Simon Eassom from this forum; I found this Datatool fob tucked away in a pocket in the tankbag just yesterday. The bike does have a Datatool alarm for which I have the usual control clickers so what is this for?

It doesn't appear to arm/disarm the alarm or immobiliser, it has two disitinct nodules on the reverse side, one circular the other oval, and there is a PCB inside. When either of the nodules are pressed, individually or simultaneously the fob emits a bright, white pulsating light.

Someone please put me out of my misery :thumb

to arm or disarm your datatool alarm.....if it does not work on your bike either it is not for you bike or it needs a new battery....

PS. forget battery being flat......the two buttons do differenet functions depending on how you use them....Try Here

I have the same fob for my alarm... if the battery was flat then you wouldn't get the bright white light when you push the buttons.

Perhaps the alarm was recoded for the fob that you've been using... making this additional one redundant?
