Hello

What kind of oil to use in the front shocks?

The book says Esso Konfort but I can’t find it anywhere…

What type of oil is it? Hydraulic?

What BMW ? R100 GS ? R 80 G/S ? Other ?
Esso konfort seems to be fork oil 10W (Motul, Bell ray, Castrol etc made that)

This is a post made by Howard Millichap years ago, it worked for me as well and short of a new set of forks the best value for money ;)

Have never felt the need for new/different springs. I just played around with oil viscosities.
Makes a huge difference to how it all feels and handles.

Try :- 16.25W (mix 75% 15W & 25% 20W)in LH leg.
15W in RH leg.

It'll cost a lot less than a re-valve. If it doesn't work for you then you've lost nothing.

Any motorcycle fork oil would do with the correct, think the two fork legs take different amounts of oil if I recall as well so please do check.
