What mileage do things start to go wrong?

I managed to find a 2000 1150 with 44,000 miles in VGC. It even came with a Haynes manual.

So I'll be subscribing soon

BTW are the gearboxes always clunky? I rekon mine comes off a Massey Fergusson!!!

It takes a while to get used to the gear shift, especially if you have come from something made by Suzuki. I used to have a TDM850 so giving it a good positive prod was second nature. Getting your whole foot under the lever helps: I tend to push my foot to the right just before up-shifting, just to make sure.

How much did you pay for the bike? Private sale or dealer? Just curious as my bike is the same age with 48k.

I paid £2475, Private Sale for a bike that is IMHO better than 'average' condition & has just had a reconditioned final drive.
