I just come into some spare cash.
In September I'm doing a 15 country jaunt around Europe.

Which is the best satnav system to go for?

By the way I have a TomTomGo for the car which is pretty cool but not waterproof.

Let me know what you guys think !

It's got to be a 2610 (or variant) with a big card.

Short of taking a lap-top, I don't think that any other unit would do that trip.

Yep, what the beardy one said.

A Laptop's not a bad solution though- I've taken mine around Eastern Europe, the Alps, and across the Sahara......

Good for dumping pics from a camera, taking copies of all info and guides etc, plus loading maps on every few days.

For what you want though, 2610.

If you're on a budget, a Streetpilot 3 with a big memory card would do - it's slower than the 2610 and doesn't have the touch sensitive screen but otherwise is similar.

I bought the Garmin Quest and I am reall impressed by the speed and compact package you get. Works well in the car and the bike.
I am still look for a GPS mount for the Quest. The one from Touratech is just very expencive.
Any sugestions

Sorry Mouse, but that's arse mate.

Oh yeah, sorry, you're selling one......

You're spot on, it'll do the job nicely

:D

Actually Fanny, I posted that before I decided to sell my SP3.

I can't see why it's not true though - you can get a 256 MB card for it, which should hold a decent amount of Europe. Yes it's slower than a 2610, but it's also half the price.

If 256MB isn't enough for this particular jaunt, then I stand corrected :D I don't think the SP3 can take larger cards than that.

2610 with SANDISK 2GB memory card. This will hold all your v7 Mapsource maps (all of Europe is about 1.7Gb) with an option of having about 150Mb left for any other maps you might want to overlay.
2610 can be picked up for as little as 500 quid.

It wouldn't be.

the following mapset is 256mb. ;)

T cover the whole of Europe it runs well over a GB.
