I was in Houston in November and bought a full twat suit (rallye 2) for £475 :D
the local BM dealer was having a sale at the time and there was a discount coupon on their web site, so if you can, look for a site for any dealers you may visit, even the local newspapers as these coupons are very common in the US for any sort of shop.

Certainly worth checking out when you are over there :thumb2
Happy shopping

All Coleman camping stuff is lots cheaper there. Plus you can get things we don't get in the UK easily - like griddles for the larger two-burner stove.

I go to the US most months but hardly ever bother to buy anything.

Did get some ski gear last March from Sports Authority in Denver.

The boots were originally $348 and I paid $24 so not too bad !!

But alot of stuff is only marginally cheaper.

For example Apple stuff is a very similar price for me on Amazon in UK.

Also you are only officially allowed £145 worth of goods and if you get stopped with goods worth more,Customs will charge you duty on the full amount of all your stuff.

Gipsy,

Tou are better off going onto www.advrider.com and doing some searches. They have a couple of threads on there like " Whats the 5 st pieces of ridin' gear you ever bought ?" etc.

See what other people have bought, how they rate it where they got it from and how it prices up compared to UK stuff. :thumb

Hello, Gipsy!

Wish I'd known sooner that you were coming 'round this side of the world. We could have co-ordinated perhaps to get some things for you sent to me, then I could ship them down to you on your visit! And then I could have had you bring a couple of small things back over this way for me! :aidan

At any rate, I hope your trip goes well! Let me know if there's anything I can help with (shipping, shopping, what-not) while you're "over here."

Cheers!

Bohdan

Oh, I didn't need anything in particular right off. I've got my stubby from Bryn (haven't actually seen it yet, but hopefully its waiting at home for me as we speak), so that might have saved me a touch of Postage. I'm looking for a light-bar and might decide to pick up Migsel's bit. If I do, I'll let you know and maybe ask you to toss it into your luggage and post it to me once you're here.

Thanks!

Bohdan

Thanks for the offer of help in the states. Had a great time over there and very pleased with my Alpinestar boots. Warm and dry in tonights downpour. Hurrah.

My little bro works in NY and he's been pretty good at sorting me out with small items that come cheap in the states. He only asks for McVities choccie digiestives which are exceptionally expensive in the US. Take a look a in the "Foreign Food" section of a Wal Mart next time your in the states.
