Hi

I currently have Anakee 2's on my 1100gs, but am needing a new back, so wondering if the Metzeler Tourance NEXT is any good?? I am after road grip more than off road, bout 90/10 I'd say. Or does anyone recommend another tyre maybe??

Regards Rob

I don't know about NEXT but I just change mine anakee 2 to dunlop tr91 and I can say that is the best road tyre I've ever had.The only thing that I heard from others it's the life of it,about 12000km!

Just come clean and admit that you will not go off road and put some PR3 trails on !!

Still happy

With the Earlier Tourances

Good wet dry grip. Loose dry gravel no drama,s

15K miles front 9K miles rear. :thumb2

Just thought id mention, I've had dunlop roadsmart 2s fitted today by Addison tyre in Tipton. Cost 193 for the pair and customer experience/service was outstanding.

Somewhat oldish thread, but... For my money, Conti 'Trail Attack'. Got a pair on my 'summer' wheels (which I've just taken off*), fitted as a pair in August 2012, done 11000m, still another thousand left in them. Super-glued to road in wet or dry.:thumb2

*Actually I took them off a couple of months back when I got a pair of TKC80s fitted to my 'winter wheels'. A pair of grubby wheels from my old GS. I got them to give me a decent chance of getting home from work if it snowed, after getting caught on the FJ on Lasertechs last year.

Due to other problems with bike in mean time, first time out on them today, and first time on knobblies since 1989. Felt a bit strange at first, seems to want to fall over into bends, but then settles down. Can still take my favourite corners at my favouriote speeds. :D Bloody inpressed so far, though I've heard the mileage is only 3-4k. Not surprising really, they're gripping like the 'Attacks' (in the dry at least) with only half the amount of rubber in contact with the black stuff...

(1100GS by the way...)
