What tyres?

Stick the Roadtec01 SE is a completely new tire...On the sides they look like slicks...:thumb2 Hopefully out in GS sizes soon...How do you like the Road Attak 3 you just put on compared to the Trail Attak 3 you rode before ? I need new tires but can't decide because I liked them equally well !

Road attack were not as good as the TA3 as they were lazy and to be honest the grip was similar but the TA 3 allowed you to push harder as the feed back was and is better and allows you to totally concentrate on the next corner rather than battling with the present corner , if you see what i mean. As for the RoadTech the new tyre looks similar to the old one and the front still has that squimy look to it , if its totally differnt when they bring it out i may try as set but i will have to convince myself first . Photo take 2018 May.
The new ( again when out ) M9rr Trail looks like it could be good but the front may wear quick as the weight of the GS in hard braking can wear the front fast as the wear markers as its more road will be shallow compared to the the Trail CTa3 for example , worth a go tho.

Try the TA3 , great tyre , unflappable as is the GS is , so a great match.

Like i said , thank god for that , better tyres out there . Is yours the Endro Duc or the Sport , cant remember as if its the sport there are so many better options , if its the Enduro TA3.:beerjug:
Its no old tractor ,more like a trashed dark destroyer of peoples dreams and reality......I call it JD:green gri

Mine’s the S model. I have high hopes for these tyres.

Stick I run the TA3 and love them....But I loved the RA3 and PST3 just as much...:D But the RA3 I ran last year and the PST2 2 years ago so I just wanted you to refresh my memories.I even think that I pretty much got the same mileage out of all 3.I ran the Metzeler Roadtec01 on my aircooled R1200GS when they came out new years ago.I liked them as much as the PST2 except in town when I felt some squirm and noise coming from the front but the new ones with the slick like sides look promising....I don't want to be greedy M9RR in GS sizes would be a dream but Roadtec01SE would be worth trying on the GS,too ! Until then I run the TA3 which I like a lot but I thought wit the additional tread debt over the RA3 they would last a little longer...Otherwise can't go wrong with either Continental or Metzeler/Pirelli which are probably the best tire brands right now ! Especially in GS sizes...

Nutty , do you have a picture of the front tire, too ? I'll bet the mew 01SE's will be excellent on dry and wet roads ! But no GS sizes yet...

Centre section the same , that will still move I feel , less on the side but that for me wasn't the issue , hope they work for you :thumb2:thumb2:beerjug: Still think you need sport rubber on to be honest to get the best from the bike as you have the option due to the 17/17 and the wide foot print / contact patch .:thumb:)

Thanks Nutty ! I liked the Roadtec01 as much as the PST2 on the aircooled GS but the new ones with new compound and solid sides will probably be very good...:thumb2 Not as good as an M9RR on a track but probably ace on the street...But not for the GS yet...Stick why did you go back to the RA3 like you show on your 2-up picture if you don't like em as much as the TA3 ? You are right the TA3 are a hair quicker steering but otherwise the RA3 are very good and confidence inspiring maybe even a hair more so than the very good PST2...

I did not go back to the RA3 . The TA3 is better .
The picture shows the Road tec 01 before it was binned . The other was the Pr5 , the chocolate version

I considered the M9RR, but that’s a bit too extreme, as I don’t fancy changing tyres every 2000 miles! And wanted something a bit grippier in the wet.

Stick I 'm talking about the picture you posted on post 59 that clearly shows a RA3...

Thanks stick you are right...for some reason I thought they were the RA3 as similar as they look ! Like I said have the TA3 on my bike as well but not ridden for a while because the border to mexico is still closed to "unessential travel"...:( In the U.S. the cops write tickets like there is no tomorrow because they want to keep their jobs...And I already pay more than enough in taxes... Land of the F(r)ee !

Cannot argue with that , but ............................................its a Ducati ...

We’re all different, but after 6 LC’s, this wipes the floor with all of them in every way. Including my 1250. ;)

I was searching for GS perfection. It never happened. You’ve not had the latest 2020 1260 Multi, have you? ;)

It would be like your feeling of the GS , same platform which for me was wanting in the areas the GS shines . We all like different thing and the Multi is a great looking bike and does go like stink but it’s not for me . I have tried the new one and yes it’s nice but it still the same bike I did not jell with and still found the same feeling . Again great bike Rich and glad you have found the keeper 👍👍
