I went from Alaska to Ushia in Argentina last year and the best thing I did was
to
fit a bevel box from an 1100 to lower the gearing a bit especially that high bottom gear on the 1150, this will save a lot of clutch abuse on off/rough roads, and heavy traffic. Try it before you go if you don't like it you'll soon sell it on here, belive me it does make a difference and does not appear to affect top speed much while improving acceleration. enjoy it. As an after thought put a tie strap around TT panniers as they can come off over rough roads! whatch out for the exhaust side and arrange it so it dosent go opver the pipe. It melts and falls off. (the strap not the pannier!). This happend to me!!.
