What would you pay for a 1150 SE?

Seriously, I didn't pay that for mine, in fact £2k less and 3k miles more, and I certainly wouldn't pay that for it.
 
£3.5K, but it would need to be a nice one.

It'll be interesting to see what it finally goes for. I saw it at £8100 yesterday and thought that was crazy. Don't get me wrong it's a lovely example and I'm a big fan of the 1150GSA but nearly 9 grand, and still likely to go up. Wow. At least 2 someones must REALLY want it.
 
The first SE I bought had done 7k miles, my current one had done 1,200 miles ...it appears they were both bargains.

Someone's in for a great bike with this one and no matter what others may say about the SE, good one's do command a high price as seen:augie
 
Mine has 54,000 KM's on it. Ride it every day and it was cheaper to buy in 2005 than a silver one. I nearly sold mine last year for €6000 euro, glad I changed my mind now. I'd still get €6,500 a year later by the looks of it. :beerjug: But why pay £9k sterling ? The SE saddle is still available for around €300 euro and you could respray a silver or black one for small enough money and hey presto you have an SE.

No, you don't. Hey presto, you have a copy of an SE. And for those that want and are prepared to pay for one, that's a very different thing.

I'm very happy with my black one as it is. :thumb2

1st. They don't make 'em anymore.
2nd. They were a bit of a cult bike from day 1.{ Must be, because both Timmy and James have one :cool:}
3rd. They only made a few [ compared to all other GSA 1150's]
4th. It's why an 80g/s with a Dakar kit fitted on original delivery is worth loads more than a standard 80g/s. fitted with a Dakar kit later in life...{ V5 on Dealer fitted ones will be R80g/s DAKAR }
5th. In 5 years time it will still be a rare and desired 1150 GSA because of 1st reason....

1. They don't make lots of things anymore, doesn't mean they will just keep gaining value forever ... or ever.

5. We'll see, at the end of the day its not a 'classic' bike as in old fashioned styling with old fashion technology, its just a modern bike getting older.


Fashions change and 'adventure' bikes maybe old news in 5 years time.

A lot of dosh for bragging rights about having an SE. If they had been a real special with some extra special bits on maybe worth a bit extra, but nearly £9 because it's white?

Nothing on a SE is unique, apart from a bit of white matt paint:blast

It's got no special parts over a standard GSA:rolleyes:
