What would you pay for a 1150 SE?

Well the person who won the auction was obviously prepared to go higher..
3 bids, all on the winning price :augie:augie

iirc one diff' was low first gear :rob

Given a choice between a 1200adv or an 1150 SE adv with 5k miles on both, I'd have the 1150, so I guess I'd pay it :nenau

I know of one sitting in a garage waiting for some tarting.

I think it's only got about 3k miles on it :augie

Actually 1050 miles. I'll say it again - one thousand and fifty miles :D

Compare the 1150SE at £9k with a similarly priced 1200GSA......

Run each for 30-40,000 miles and see which one is worth the most at the end (and cost less to service/fix - along the way).

Al:)

I'd be amazed if the price differential was any more than £500 on a 40,000 mile GSA vs. an SE if they had both been used properly and were looking a bit scruffy. :nenau

All these high value SE bikes are very low mileage and immaculate. I'd pay a premium for that alone. :blast

Sold my previous SE 2 years ago to a guy from Belgium after 20 mins of advertising, like here they're considered very desirable in Germany but hard to find.
It had been ridden as intended and still sold for £6,500. So after 40k miles, ridden to Mongolia and back plus a few European trips, and used offroad depreciation was nil.

I wouldn't sell my current 15k mile SE, with all the extras etc. on it for less than £11k:nenau

To many people they are THE most desirable GS, that's why they'll pay a premium for a good one, to others, they're just a white GS, hence this never ending debate:)

Who cares what others think - the only person who matters is the person paying you the cash for the bike :thumb

fair enough, I stand corrected :bow

Still like the silver / red ones best though :hide

If I still had one I'd be getting rid now.
It won't last.

They said that about the old GS basic back in 2001 when they were selling for £2.5k and the first G/S could be had for £1200 . :comfort

Yep, there are times I still hanker for my old silver one. There's something about them that gives that solidly built feeling:thumb

Black ones are ok as long as they don't have any yellow on them:barf:D
