Well after probably 10 years or more, I need to replace my trusty Active 7. It's been on 3 or 4 bikes, but just too many bits getting worn now and assume the modern equivalent will be super-smashing-great!

What I am after / like about the Active 7;

- Bike powered
- Small-ish
- Simple. I don't even need a passenger head phone cable as in the 10 or so years of having it, never used the passenger lead.
- Hard wired input for Zumo 660 sound
- Allows me to connect my walkie-talkie / PPT cables.

Also I have had to put a Amplirider in series with the Zumo/Active 7 as I just wasn't getting the volume direct from the Active 7, so if the newer ones putout more volume that'd be great.

Not bothered about BlueTooth and won't be adding a phone to it.

Will probably buy a "kit" as my headset lead is also breaking up.

So what's the current equivalent from our friends at Autocom? Any recommendations for dealers/places to buy?

cheers

thanks, but for the life of me I can't work out their web site and what I should buy if I want bike-to-bike and have a feed in from my GPS. I have a Motorola T-<something> walkie-talkie with the Autocom connectors, but can't see a cable on that site that would allow me to use it.

Give them a call then, they are very helpful and will talk you through all the bits that you need.

UPDATE: So all fitted now. Ended up with an Autocom Logic 1 kit with the addition of a 12v power supply and a plug in lead to link to the walkie talkie. I also discovered that my old red box suppressor was knackered (when fitted to the Logic) so brought a part 4004 which is a 1.5/2m 3.5mm audio lead with the suppressor built in (and much smaller than the old red box).

All tested and lovely in the garage, out for a ride with my lad on pillion over the weekend to check the volume at speed is OK. If not I'll put my Amplirider back into the system.

cheers

UPDATED UPDATE: Volume is much better with the Logic 1 than the old Active 7. Lad on back and I could hear the music fine so no need for the Amlirider with the Logic 1 - which makes the whole set up much neater / cleaner. Just the Logic 1 box and the 4004 lead with built in suppressor - much better than the Active 7, a stock 3.5mm jack lead, red suppressor box and an Amplirider.
