Aaaah thats a wobblybox?? I honestly don't know where my variation came from (other than TLplanet) but as previoulsy mentioned it makes me and others laugh. I guess it covers a broad spectrum of humour senses!!

On a more serious note I am now condsidering buying a brand spanking new GS1200 adventurer, ranh BMW dealers in Belfast to enquire if they could bring a UK used bike over and do a trade-in on the Mille. When I told the guy the bike I was looking at was 07 with 14k miles (panniers etc etc) and advertised at £9000 he laughed telling me a new bike with panniers is £10100!! Why oh why would you buy a used bike????:nenau

but then again it is a 1200:augie

if you have the money, and the bike you want is a keeper, new, mmm brand new :drool

Got our local dealer to attempt to persuade me to buy a brand new 1200GS a few weeks back...

spec I fancied was ABS/Heated grips/Computer/full vario luggage

Came to around £11900  or £11200 with no part ex. if I hacked in my 1150 GSA (03) they wanted £7300 plus the bike ....

Ended up with a mint 54 plate 1200 private sale... and the whole deal cost me around £300 to change by the time I'd sold the bike and all the goodies;)

Despite the reliability issues I'm still excited about the 1200 :clap

Just get what you want and enjoy

Welcome to the collective and the confusion of BMW pricing. :thumb

With the current recession BMW are offering panniers on all new bikes as an incentive for buyers, first time they've ever done such a thing as far as I'm aware and an indication that its a buyers market out there.

That price you've been quoted is for a base spec bike with none of the option packs, and chances are you'll have to have it ordered to be built which could take a month or two.

Have a look at the bike configurator over on BMW Mottorad and you'll see what I mean.

Good luck:thumb
