I was poking around under the R/H side of my '08 GS and I found this -unused- bracket. Anyone know what it's for please?
Whatever it was intended for, it IS just the right size and has just the right brackets to cable tie the compressor off my Nippy Norman's Stebel Nautilus which I have been trying to find a place to fit.
Now I can remove the Magnum, replace BMW's silly beeper and have both.
Thanks to The Dutchman? --- no it's Thorium---http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165390
or whoever it was who did the original post about dismantling the Nautilus and and fitting the compressor in some hole he'd found using 90mm plastic drain pipe.
Do you think I can find the original post:mad: Cheers Dave

I believe it is the holder for a charcoal canister that is fitted in some North American markets to comply with regulations governing the ventilation of fuel tanks.

It is very handy for the rest of us :thumb2

I think the "original post" was on Adv Rider, wasn't it....? ISTR that the aforementioned hole was on a 1200 Adventure and was where the charcoal cannister on a US model had been located. Similarly, I suspect that's what the bracket that you've illustrated is intended for.

I've got the ballast for my HID cable tied to it on my bike.

Charcoal canister?

IIRC this is the mount for the charcoal canister required for bikes in the States

Someone else can correct me if they have better info
